A play on ‘Mélange à trois, these three hats pair together making all three an audience. Choose the one you want to stay with. Vote for the other two.
The original design was a slouchy format and is the largest hat in this adult medium range. As for me, I don’t like to wear a slouchy robe and I was thinking of Daniel because he prefers a penny. So I redo the math and formed a new sample to shorten it and change the edge. Fits gemstones.
For me I prefer the toque version with a rolled edge and pom pom. So I shortened the length of the sag to go between the size of a beanie and a slouch.

The original pattern was Red Heart Ombre. It’s called the Crochet Shell Stitch Basic Hat and makes for a slouchy volume. She also has a matching scarf in a similar format with an ombre. It’s called the basic Shell Stitch crochet scarf.

Lately though
Red Heart Roll With It Melange has been hit hard. Let the colors play their own tune. Three’s A Crowd Hat colors are called Hollywood. You can get two caps from one ball for most sizes. I’m obsessed.
The three sample sizes only took 2 balls but I could still make another small hat out of the remaining thread. If you decide to make a hand-made pom-pom, this will reduce the amount of yarn left and you can just slap on a faux-fur pom-pom for a quick happy ending.

If you tie the pom pom like a tie inside the hat, the pom pom can be removed for washing.
